LC Powers
Along with her canon powers, this version of Scout has become a changeling, a half-Fae creature capable of some fae magic. Her form is somewhat plastic and her coloration and features can shift in mostly cosmetic ways in response to events she participates in. Away from the Carnival, traits she dislikes usually revert.
Power drain: Given a moment to concentrate Scout can open the bump on her forehead into a kind of lure and siphon electrical energy from machines, robots included. She can similarly sap psionic energies. This can be done with great precision to things in front of her within fifteen feet. Energy she takes she can add to her own reserve and use to boost her native powers, but since those and her reserve are rather small this is a debuff, not disabling unless something's nearly out of juice. See 'science fiction armor' below.
Fae Glamour: As a changeling Scout can cast certain fae spells to change how people, places, and things are perceived. Specifically she can cast 'normalize' and 'not here'. 'Normalize' disguises people, herself included, as unremarkable humans (or whatever) dressed like they belong in whatever setting they're in, and similarly applies it to belongings, animals, etc. 'Not here' is like invisibility, but without people stumbling over something they can't see; instead they just don't notice and unthinkingly step around it.
'Normalize' works best with someone acting like they belong and not doing anything to stand out. 'Not here' works best if whatever's concealed isn't standing out too much; you're going to notice the glamoured person openly rifling through your desk pretty quickly, but the one in the shadows might not be noticed at a casual glance. The glamours can be stacked, disguising something big and eye-catching as something unremarkable that observers are encouraged to ignore.
Both can be broken with attention and careful scrutiny, or just by having iron around.
Dæmon conjuring: Scout is able to make her dæmon, an animal-shaped manifestation of her soul and part of her personality, take physical form besides her. Tràkata is a Mantessan Panthac, a bobcat-sized scrappy predator with lion, monitor lizard, and pig qualities. He has weight and mass and is able to manipulate objects and see, hear, and smell things Scout doesn't, but he's made of soul particles. If they're more than twenty feet apart or he's severely wounded, contacts iron, or is unwillingly touched by another sentient being, he instantly dissolves into quickly-fading golden motes until she has the time to conjure him again. Unless she's consciously dismissing his form, this breaks her concentration and jars her.
Tràkata can speak but is unlikely to say much. She doesn't consciously control him, nor is he a separate individual; he tends to reflect her more suspicious, guarded, cynical side focused on survival and the pain of loss.
Weakness to iron: Detailed more here low on the page, but in sum Scout's substance is Fae enough to be inherently harmed by iron. The less processed the worse it is. 'Cold' iron is painful for her to get within a foot of and its touch corrodes her flesh like a strong acid, while steel merely feels unpleasant against her skin. She can sense iron around her.
If you wear steel-rimmed spectacles or carry iron anywhere on your person, you can see through any glamour she casts. Carrying iron prevents her from casting a glamour over you or draining you.
LC Equipment
Scout's not much for possessions but you tend to accumulate Cool Stuff while in service to a Greater Fae. Just going to list them here.
Lightweight black science fiction armor fitted to her body, a tail-sleeve included. She can channel the Force through it to enhance her speed and strength, but wearing it does also dampen her warning precognition. If she's able to use her power drain while in armor the boost is more significant.
A set of featherlight armor fitted to her body, tail included. "A set of master crafted armor which is impossibly light to wear but still durable and strong against both physical and magical attacks."
A set of elf armor in browns and dark greens which is, yes, fitted. "Leather and fabric armor robes that are made by elves and are surprisingly comfortable, as a result. Made with silver alloy, perfect for moving quickly. Has some magical resistance."
Two scouters, glowy visors that indicate people's power levels. Did not come with manuals explaining what the usually large, fluctuating numbers actually mean.
'Nerf gun'. "A regular looking nerf gun that can stun some enemies and disable their ability to cast magic spells for a limited period of time. The more you shoot them the longer it lasts. Downside is that there are no extra darts and you have to find them afterwards."
A bonsai phoenix fruit tree in a pot. It grows one small yellow citrus fruit to faintly-glowing maturity every few days. Eat these to have symptoms of illness damp down and recover or heal faster. Not a miracle cure.
